SUPPORT THE SOCIETY Donate to CCHS: Make a Monetary Contribution or a Material Donation
Thank you for your interest in supporting the Chevy Chase Historical Society.
There are many ways to support CCHS: you can join the society, give a
gift membership, become a volunteer, or make a material donation. We invite you to become a Friend of the Society today and help us to bring to
life our community’s past for present and future generations. Like most
nonprofit organizations, the CCHS appreciates and relies upon the generosity
of individuals, businesses, and corporations. Your tax-deductible monetary
contributions support our many programs, exhibitions, and daily operations. In addition to monetary contributions, we welcome material donations. Our
collection of historical artifacts and ephemera depends on the generosity of
those who presently live or work in Chevy Chase, once resided in the
community, or have an interest in preserving local history. Items such as
photographs, yearbooks, maps, books, personal papers, and family histories
are all gratefully accepted by the CCHS and help us to preserve the cultural

501(c) 3 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, registration #52-1279019.
Donations and shipping costs are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
The deed of gift form, which donors sign to transfer ownership of the donation
to the CCHS, also serves as a tax receipt. However, the CCHS is forbidden
by federal law from providing any information on the value (real or perceived)
of any object(s) donated or potentially donated to it. The CCHS advises you
to contact a regional branch of the Appraisers Association of America and
seek the counsel of a tax professional when donating.
