Chevy Chase Rose
Did you know that there’s a rose named after our Chevy Chase community?
The flower was hybridized here in 1939 by Neils Hansen who later became President of the American Rose Society. It is a rambler rose that climbs about 12 to 15 feet and blooms for 2-3 weeks around Memorial Day here in the Washington, DC area. Nick Weber of Heritage Rosarium calls the rose “the ultimate red rambler.”
